Le Reve

Last night we saw the show "Le Reve" (the dream) at the Wynn in Las Vegas. This show had a special meaning for us since a family member is part of the crew :)

Here are some videos - even though the real thing was SOOOO much better. Absolutely stunning!

Las Vegas

We are currently vacationing in Las Vegas, NV visiting family. I have never been out West and love to see the landscape here.

We spent a day in the Valley of Fire and had a great time hiking:

Then, we wanted to hike Mount Charlston. Unfortunately, our plans were cut short since we picked the day of a rare May snow storm...001 Mt Charlston

Since we couldn't be out in nature, we headed to Freemont Street, i.e. old Las Vegas, and checked out some casinos.

And, of course, we had to see Hoover Dam. What an experience!!

Visiting Neighbor

Imagine my surprise this morning when I found this visiting neighbor in our yard!
Luckily she liked the dewey grass enough to leave the garden alone... Happy Earthday everyone!

Tuscany Shawl

Finished!! Tuscany Shawl
014 Tuscany Shawl005 Tuscany Shawl008 Tuscany Shawl

Pattern: Tuscany by Amy R. Singer (published in the book: No Sheep for You)
Yarn: Wolle's Yarn Creations' 4-ply cotton; 1 skein in BLUE BASIL
Needles: 3.25 mm
Measurements: 63 inches along the straight edge, 18 inches down the middle

The pattern looks much more complicated than it is - the lace repeat is straight forward and easy to memorize. I really like the shape of this shawl: it is really wide and fairly "flat" making it perfect for wrapping around the neck.
