Sunburst Shawl
I just finished my Sunburst Shawl. This shawl is strictly speaking a poncho; however, I think of it as a stay-in-place shawl.
Pattern: Spectacular Sunburst Shawl by Mary Gildersleeve
Yarn: Wolles Yarn Creations: one 100 gr skein in colorway Maroons (480 yards)
Needles: US 3 (3.25 mm)
Modifications: Added a few repeats of lines 59 + 60 (last two rows) to use up all the yarn

Progress report
I am currently working on my Garden Pond Shawl:
Yarn: Wolle's Yarn Creations - Color Changing Cotton - 1 x 100 gr = 480 yards
Source: wollesyarncreations.etsy.com
Color: Nectar II (new)
Needles: 3.25 mm (US #3)
Pattern: Garden Pond by Patricia Clift Martin
The pattern is easy and straight forward. I am in the last lace mesh section before the lace border.
Also OTN is a pair of socks for yours truly.
Yarn: Opal
Color: Rosenbeet
Source: Gift from Margaret
Needles: 2.5 mm
Pattern: Short row heel pattern from memory
And I am very happy to report that this pair of socks is finally completed - after three (3) years. Yup.
Yarn: Fortissima
Color: Socki Colori
Needles: 2.5 mm
Pattern: Short row heel pattern from memory
Nothing fancy, but I like the lightning bold pooling effect. But most of all I am glad to have this pair finally done! :)

Near my mother's place in Germany is a farmer who has kangaroos. Here they are at dinner time:
On the left is mom with the baby in her pouch, on the left is the off-spring from last year. The dad is currently living somewhere else. So cute!!

Keeping Children Warm
Wool-Aid is a charity that knits for children in very cold climates. In the past, we were able to send items to Tibet, Mongolia, Canada, Afghanistan, etc. Here are some hats I finished recently.
Wool-Aid uses only wool (at least 80%) for the extra warmth. All of the hats are made from various stash yarns double or triple stranded to create a dense, warm fabric. More info: wool-aid.org
The patterns used (Thorpe, Quynn, and Ear Cozy) can be found on Ravelry.
Some Thorpes:
Some Quynns:
And some Ear Cozies.
