Here is my first finished object knitted out of the new 6-ply Color Changing Cotton yarn. I used one skein of AQUAFROG:
The pattern is called Citron and was published in Knitty, Winter 2009, and can be found here.

Snow, snow, snow
This last weekend we had a big winter storm passing through Virginia. It started snowing Friday night and continued for 24 hours. The result were 2 feet of the fluffy white stuff. I love it when everything gets quiet and calm as if covered by one big blanket - only that blanket was for real this time...

Another FO - CLAPOTIS
I finished my fourth Clapotis. (The pattern was written by Kate Gilbert and published in the Fall 2004 edition of Knitty - one of the most popular patterns ever!)
I used 3 skeins (50 gr each) of my Color Changing Cotton in colorway SUNBURST, which is available in my shop here, knitted on US 3 (3.25 mm) needles.
I added 2 or 3 more repeats of the increase section to make the shawl a bit wider.

New Colors in the Shop
Here are new colorways available in my shop - wollesyarncreations.etsy.com.
GREEN OCEAN + GREEN OCEAN II
The pictures don't do the real colors justice. GREEN OCEAN is a really nice blend of blues and greens. This colorway is available in 100 gr skeins (=480 yds/skein).
SILVER PURPLE + SILVER PURPLE II
This colorway is not totally new, but I finally finished the swatch. SILVER PURPLE and SILVER PURPLE II are available in 50 gr skeins (=240 yds/skein).

Warm Woolies Lands' End Campaign
I recently finished two projects for the Warm Woolies Lands' End campaign. The yarn was donated by Lands' End to Warm Woolies volunteers; the finished projects will be distributed around Christmas time to tribal reservations. More info about this campaign can be found here.
From the Heart Baby Blanket. This blanket was designed by Lismi. (Please check her website for all of her wonderful designs.)
The blanket is about 44 x 46 inches and weighs almost 3 lbs. It is not your typical baby blanket, but it surely will keep a child warm and toasty this winter.
Steppe Ahead Vest. This vest was supposed to be a sweater, but I ran out of yarn for the sleeves. The pattern is one of my favorites and was written by Irina Makarow

Finished!!! SEASCAPE Shawl
My Seascape shawl is finished!!
I used one 100 gr skein each of Wolle's Yarn Creations' cotton SEASCAPE and SEASCAPE II. The pattern is Evelyn Clark's Seascape Shawl. The pattern is written in garter stitch. I modified it and knitted the main lace portion in stockinette; the border is in garter stitch following the original pattern.
The shawl measures 56 inches in width and 24.5 inches down the center.

CORAL REEF is a vibrant combination of purple, teal, and blue. Knitted up it looks like this:
(The color is not brand-new, but I just now finished the swatch.)This color is available in 100 gr skeins in my shop: wollesyarncreations.etsy.com
CALIFORNIA is a brand new colorway. I guess I am not completely ready to let summer go...
And, yes, the swatch is ready. Sometimes I am on top of things!
And last but not least another colorway and a new WIP. The colorway is called SEASCAPE and I am using it to make the Seascape Shawl by Evelyn Clark.
SEASCAPE is available in 50 and 100 gr skeins.

FO: Baktus
While I was at NoSoKnit last Saturday, I not only met with new and old friends, but I also finished my first Baktus (yes, first, but certainly not last one).
The scarf turned out really well if I may say so myself. The colors look so much nicer knitted up then they appeared on the skein and the yarn is soooo soft against the skin.
Stats:
I used one 50 gr skein each of GREEN MEDLEY and GREEN MEDLEY II knitted on US3 needles. Final dimensions are 57 inches end to end and 12 inches at the widest point.

NoSoKnit 2009
On Saturday, September 26, 2009 I went to Roanoke, VA to attend the 12th annual NoSoKnit. NoSo is a yearly gathering of 100 or so knitters from the North and the South. Roanoke is geographically located in the middle, so the meet established itself there.
The weather was dreary, rainy, and nasty - what a perfect day to spend knitting among friends. We had a wonderful time.
There were also opportunities to support the local economy, which we did:
Rae and Tere are the two organizers, and the two are doing a terrific job every year getting wonderful door prizes. This year I was really lucky and received 6 skeins of Cascade 220, which I plan to use for Warm Woolies projects.
Thank you Rae and Tere for a great day!!

Since the leaves are starting to turn here in Virginia, I thought I add FOLIAGE and FOLIAGE II to my shop:

1/2 FO: Baktus
Even though I am not finishing any projects, I am certainly starting enough new ones. My Baktus is almost half done (about 1/2 inch missing until the end of the increase section).
I am using 2 x 50gr of Wolle's Color Creations in GREEN MEDLEY. I am surprised how much I enjoy knitting this pattern. It is all garter stitch with a simple increase every 4 rows. Simple yet effective and very nice.

Warm Woolies Projects
I have finally picked up my charity knitting projects again. There is not much to show for so far, but at least two projects are in the works.
Steppe Sweater designed by olyweaver
From the Heart Baby Mystery Blanket by Lismi
Both projects are part of the Warm Woolies/Lands' End campaign. Lands' End donated the yarn to Warm Woolies knitters to make items for tribal reservations to be donated before the holidays. This FeelGood yarn is a cotton, wool, and synthetic mix; it is very soft and knits well. I am using it double stranded with 6.5 mm needles.

Hats for Christmas at Sea
I finally managed to mail 4 hats I had made for Christmas at Sea a while ago.
Christmas at Sea is an organization based in New York that distributes hand-knit items to seamen, among other things.
The hat pattern is called Hurricane Hats and is available for free. The pattern is well written and easy but fun and interesting to knit. I yarn is Lion Brand Wool-Ease.
